COVID-19: internationalization support premium

The fight against coronavirus has prevented companies from participating in certain international events and activities, organized as part of an internationalisation project. If the company has not been able to obtain a refund, it can apply for a subsidy from the Region, under certain conditions.

Who can benefit from this premium?

Self-employed persons and SMEs who meet all three conditions can benefit from this premium:

  • own a unit of establishment on the territory of the Brussels-Capital Region and carry out an economic activity there
  • active in certain business sectors (see the “export” column in the table)
  • have not received more than €200,000 of “de minimis” aid over three fiscal years
incurred costs to prepare for or participate in a trade show or business development mission abroad before March 19, 2020, and were unable to obtain reimbursement

For what kind of fees?

The grant covers the costs of preparing for or participating in a trade fair or business development mission abroad that were incurred prior to the health quota measures, i.e. before March 19, 2020. Only costs for which the company could not obtain any reimbursement are taken into account.

Which intervention can you benefit from?

A grant of up to €2,500 per Brussels company.

How do you apply for the premium?

Complete the application form (in French) and send it duly completed and signed with its annexes by email to comextcovid@sprb.brussels.

To find out more about the eligibility conditions and the terms and conditions of intervention, consult the “Covid-19 Internationalisation Support Prime” regulation (in French).
