Cumulus
Raincoats for all seasons.
Rain is part of every season here in Belgium! So, for over 20 years, Françoise Pendville has designed coats, jackets and raincoats that have, over the years, become the staples of her collections. Her objective is to restore a sense of nobility to the humble raincoat. How? By scouring international trade shows, assisted by hub.brussels.
In 2012, the designer Françoise Pendville decided to launch a new line, timeless and nomadic. And hence the birth of Cumulus, a collection of waterproofs and accessories that bring together modernity, elegance and colour.
Travel light, wherever you go
Françoise Pendville, keen to spread beyond the confines of Belgium, took part several times in the Paris trade show Maison et Objet, with the assistance of hub.brussels. On top of the aid received for participating in these trade shows, the designer called on the services of our economic and commercial attachés to gain access to boutiques likely to correspond to her market. She forged several contacts, particularly in New York and Japan.
On display, at the Pompidou Centre’s Concept Store
Since May Françoise Pendville has exhibited her creations at the Concept Storeat Kanal-Centre Pompidou, managed by hub.brussels, in partnership with other designers. This has been a great opportunity to showcase her creations to a curious, cultured international audience.
Designed in Brussels, made out of Italian fabric then manufactured in Europe or Morocco, Françoise Pendville’s raincoats are now sold pretty much around the world.
A Brussels gem that has been around for a while…

director and designer at CumulusThe support of hub.brussels is essential when it comes to exports. Designers are often isolated and dependant on a rapidly-changing distribution network. hub.brussels offered us generous support, allowing us to create synergies and to take advantage of a whole range of services.
