A platform to support the Cultural and Creative Industries

Are you active in the Cultural and Creative Industries, i.e. economic activities, from production to distribution, that are based on creative elements and have the potential to create cultural value and economic growth? Find out about the work of creative.hub, the regional CCI consultation platform, set up to network partners active in its support!

Architecture, audiovisual, art & heritage, design & fashion, press & literature, music, visual & performing arts, event organization, nightlife, photography, advertising, marketing, software, video games: the cultural and creative industries cover a very broad spectrum and play a fundamental role in defining the identity and attractiveness of the Brussels region.

Dynamic, innovative and generating significant local economic spin-offs as well as a strong capacity to export to international markets, the CCI rank as the second largest provider of jobs in our Region.

It was therefore essential for hub.brussels to position itself at the centre of regional thinking and action on CCIs by creating the Coordination Platform for Cultural and Creative Industries in 2022, as part of the regional economic transition strategy Shifting Economy.

Why a coordination platform?

Creative.hub marks the starting point for an in-depth structuring of the various sectors of the cultural and creative economy in the Brussels-Capital Region.

As an evolving, dynamic tool that is attentive to the needs of the Brussels Cultural and Creative Industries, this platform aims to :

  • map and monitor them
  • contribute to raising their profile and developing their identity
  • bring together the Brussels ecosystem supporting CCIs in a single forum for dialogue
  • question partners about the economic concerns and needs of these sectors, and help create avenues for economic reinforcement, whether in terms of financing, research & innovation, employment, etc.
  • enhance the clarity and synergies between the CCI
  • support bodies active in the Brussels area
gather and elaborate information useful to the development of CCIs in Brussels, and make it accessible (via 1819.brussels, among others)
  • make existing assistance and support more transparent
  • identify what support is lacking for CCIs with a promising future in the region, and make proposals to support them
  • promote eco-responsible practices at the heart of financing and support tools for these sectors

What profiles does the platform bring together?

The platform’s partners are public and private operators active in the Brussels area in supporting and representing these sectors from an economic point of view.

Creative.hub currently brings together some 80 specialized organizations and public service partners, representing the various branches of CCI support in the Brussels-Capital Region:

  • economic support structures (regional administrations or subsidised bodies)
  • public and private business centres and third places
artists’ social secretariats and rights management companies
  • specialised public or private funding bodies
  • the main professional federations or associations
  • the main actors of higher education in these sectors

By working closely with our partners and bringing forward needs from the field, Creative.hub is committed to contributing to initiatives that promote economic support and help meet the specific needs of these sectors.

N.B. The platform does not provide direct support to companies.
