Export to Serbia

Real GDP growth of Serbie accelerated and reached 4.2% in 2018 due to the strength of domestic demand and, in particular, increased capital expenditure. The latter has benefited from large flows of FDI. Growth should continue to increase in 2019.

Foreign trade activity was also strong, with a healthy 7% increase in exports. In recent years, Serbia has benefited from large flows of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) and increasing numbers of Chinese investors who, for example, acquired the largest steel mill in the country in 2016.

The government recently adopted new regulations which aim to attract further foreign direct investment. Serbia is in a much more favourable macroeconomic situation and the country’s economic health continues to improve.
