- Côte d'Ivoire
From 30 May to 6 June, hub.brussels, AWEX and FIT will organise an economic mission to Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire. Aimed at companies active in the water, environment and renewable energy sectors, it will offer priority access to projects financed by international donors, as well as opportunities for local and international partnerships.
About
hub.brussels, in collaboration with AWEX and Flanders Investment & Trade, is organising an economic mission to Côte d’Ivoire, held in Abidjan from Saturday 30 May to Friday 6 June 2026.
Following on from the actions undertaken in Côte d’Ivoire, this mission will take an integrated approach, focusing on three strategic, high-potential sectors:
- Water & sanitation
- Renewable energies (energy efficiency, hybrid solutions, energy valorisation, etc.)
- Environment and climate (protecting forests, waste management, circular economy, climate adaptation, etc.)
These sectors are at the heart of Côte d’Ivoire’s national priorities and benefit from substantial funding from development banks and international donors.
The mission will provide participating companies with a comprehensive overview of financing mechanisms and specific opportunities for:
- Positioning themselves upstream of projects, before calls for tender
- Identifying blended finance, PPP or EPC + financing opportunities
- Direct exchanges with major international donors
The discussions will focus in particular on the project pipelines 2026-2030, financed or in preparation with:
- The World Bank
- The African Development Bank (AfDB)
- The EIB, the EBRD and the European Union (Global Gateway)
- Bilateral donors (AFD, KfW, GIZ, Enabel)
- Climate funds and mechanisms linked to adaptation and the energy transition
Program
The programme is currently being prepared, but the organised activities will include the following:
- Meetings with sectoral ministries in Côte d’Ivoire (water, agriculture, energy, environment, finance)
- Working meetings with sectoral experts from the World Bank and AfDB (presentation of future projects and pipelines)
- Exchange with the EIB, EBRD and the European Union Delegation (Global Gateway)
- Meetings with Bilateral donors (AFD, GIZ, Enabel, KfW, etc.)
- Presentations and discussions with specialised funds and climate initiatives
- Specific B2B meetings with institutional partners
- Networking sessions with local chambers of commerce and economic actors (Beluci, Eurocham, etc.).

Subsidies
Due to the lack of a government in the Brussels-Capital Region, the processing and granting of these subsidies is currently suspended until further notice. At this stage, we do not know whether these subsidies will be reactivated before the start of the mission. We recommend you follow the updates on the official Brussels Economy and Employment website and do not include regional financial support in your budget until the situation has been sorted out.
