About
hub.brussels is organising a multi-sectoral economic and trade mission to the Republic of Congo from 11 to 18 October 2025. The delegation will enjoy a visit to Brazzaville and Pointe Noire.
The mission’s key sectors are as follows:
- Energy and hydrocarbons: Pointe-Noire, the country’s strategic oil hub;
- Logistics and transport: development of port and rail infrastructure;
- Agro-industry: strong agricultural potential and modernisation of equipment;
- Construction and public works: urban growth and infrastructure development;
- Digital technology and telecommunications: a fast-growing market with a wealth of opportunities.
The mission will focus on events such as:
- B2B (business-to-business) meetings between Belgian and Congolese companies, organised on a targeted basis in line with organisations’ respective profiles and interests;
- Seminars and topical round tables organised on site, allowing for in-depth discussions on priority sectors and concrete opportunities for cooperation;
- B2G (business-to-government) meetings between representatives of the Belgian economic fabric and Congolese institutional authorities, in a spirit of constructive dialogue and partnership.
Why the Republic of Congo?
The Republic of Congo is starting to enjoy a sustained economic recovery after the slowdown caused by the health crisis. Thanks to the rising prices of hydrocarbons – the country’s main source of revenue – and its abundant natural resources, GDP growth is estimated at 3.5% in 2024 (versus 2.5% in 2022).
This trend is part of an effort to diversify the economy, particularly through agriculture, mining, digital technology and infrastructure.
The country is also investing in the development of special economic zones (notably in Pointe-Noire and Oyo), designed to encourage the establishment of foreign investors through attractive tax and administrative benefits.
