Digital & Economic Transition Call for Projects: 2022 winners

The Brussels-Capital Region launched a call for projects in 2021 with a view to supporting VSEs and SMEs whilst also ensuring the digital transition of the Brussels economy. The prize? Over one year, a total budget of €600,000 to support private players with digital projects offering a positive social and environmental impact. Discover the winning projects in 2022!

Better APP

Better is a matchmaking web app between donors in search of meaning and associative projects that require funding. By way of a digital solidarity subscription (a first in Europe), each month, donors who have become users, can discover and support a non-profit association in line with their interests (environmental protection, social and human development, fight for inclusion, disability support, etc.).

Solidarity Digital Assistance

Supporting the digital transformation of small and medium-sized companies focused on eco-responsible marketing. This service will help local economy stakeholders identify and take control of existing digital tools that are most in line with their needs in order to sell online and promote their products with an eco-responsible stance.

Slowby

Slowby has developed a regenerative tourism model based on the Doughnut business model, namely a model that complies with social foundations and the environmental ceiling. To implement this model, Slowby combines information needed to plan a slow travel journey (train, road, points of interest, accommodation with locals) and offers secret bicycle trips based on the traveller’s profile and interests.

IOT Factory 

“Energy Monitor”, based on the existing IOT Factory software platform, is an energy optimisation solution that uses IOT sensors to deliver guidance and help companies achieve their energy/CO2 reduction goals via dashboards and KPIs.

UNIZO

Training projects for SMEs in cybersecurity.

TAKE Care (SMILE project) 

SMILE is a non-profit organisation created during the pandemic to help patients with reduced mobility. The organisation’s primary mission is to facilitate access to care, including deliveries of prescription drugs.

TACTIC 

Setting up of an ethical and responsible datacentre, relocated as close as possible to the users. Its infrastructure is based on the principle of reuse, is powered by solar energy and is administered with open source software with a view to reducing energy costs and natural resources required for its operation.
