A platform to support the Cultural and Creative Industries

Are you active in the Cultural and Creative Industries, i.e. economic activities, from production to distribution, that are based on creative elements and have the potential to create cultural value and economic growth? Find out about the work of the regional CCI consultation platform, set up to coordinate support for your business!

The cultural and creative industries (CCI) are among the fastest growing sectors of the global economy, while an increasing share of the export capacity of cities is based on creative capital and CCI businesses.

It was therefore essential for hub.brussels to position itself at the centre of regional thinking and action on CCIs by creating the Coordination Platform for Cultural and Creative Industries in 2022, as part of the regional economic transition strategy Shifting Economy.

Why a coordination platform?

As an evolving, dynamic tool that is attentive to the needs of the Brussels Cultural and Creative Industries, this platform aims to :

  • map and monitor them
  • contribute to the visibility and development of their identity
  • to bring together the Brussels ecosystem of support for the CCI within a single space for dialogue
  • make existing aid and support more readable
  • to question them in order to bring up their economic concerns and needs
  • to reinforce the legibility and synergies between the support bodies for CCIs active in the Brussels area
raise their awareness and inform them (via hub.info, among other means)

What profiles does the platform bring together?

The platform’s partners are public and private operators active in the Brussels area in supporting and representing these sectors from an economic point of view.

At this stage, some forty organisations are members of the platform, including:

  • economic support structures (regional administrations or subsidised bodies)
  • public and private business centres and third places
artists’ social secretariats and rights management companies
  • specialised public or private funding bodies
  • the main professional federations or associations
  • the main actors of higher education in these sectors

The platform will not address companies directly and will therefore not provide support.
