Pilot project on business acquisitions: open call for applications

Are you a business owner with at least 15 employees, headquartered in the Brussels-Capital Region and you want to involve your employees in the relaunch of your business? Then this new pilot project could be just what you need. As part of the Recovery and Redeployment Plan in response to the Corona crisis, we are offering support for the acquisition of businesses – in collaboration with their employees.

Following the successful conclusion of Cameleon, which found its second wind in December 2020, hub.brussels plans to launch two new projects on company acquisitions. The objective of both projects:

  • Involve current employees in the acquisition or renewal of the company’s activities.
  • Initiate a reorientation, inspired by a cooperative model, to involve employees in strategic decision-making.
  • Strongly take into account current environmental, social and societal issues to make the business model more sustainable.

Benefit from tailor-made, personalized support

Through this program, you can count on 6 months of personal guidance from our experts. They will challenge you to rethink various aspects of your business model. This includes legal and administrative procedures, the search for funding and subsidies, the outline of a more sustainable business model, etc. This will give you all key components necessary to get your business back on track!

Pascale Switten, CEO of Rengo (ex Caméléon) and the very first participant in the pilot project:

“This new model, which involves the staff in the acquisition, is a first in Belgium. A difficult balancing act, but fortunately we received a lot of support from hub.brussels. And we are very grateful for that. Thanks to the advice and guidance of the experts, we were able to restart the company. The outlet store is again up and running, with many of the former employees. This would not have been possible without widespread sympathy and support, especially from our customers.”

Ready to breathe new life into your business?

Will you be one of the two companies we will support this year through this pilot project?

*This support provided by hub.brussels is covered by EU Commission Regulation 1407/2013 of 18 December 2013 on the application of Articles 107 and 108 of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union to de minimis aid.
