Economic Mission to the Democratic Republic of the Congo

23/01/2728/01/27

Join the Brussels Economic Mission to the Democratic Republic of the Congo from 23 to 28 January 2027 and explore one of Africa’s fastest-growing markets. Focusing on Digital & Innovation and the Kivu-Kinshasa Green Corridor, this mission will give you the opportunity to meet key decision-makers, identify new business opportunities, and build lasting partnerships at the heart of one of Central Africa’s most promising economic ecosystems.

About

From 23 to 28 January 2027, hub.brussels is organising a Brussels economic mission to Kinshasa for companies looking to expand their activities, identify new opportunities and build sustainable partnerships in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
This multi-sector mission, with a particular focus on two strategic pillars — Digital & Innovation and the Kivu-Kinshasa Green Corridor project — will be led by Mr Boris Dilliès, Minister-President of the Brussels-Capital Region.
His presence will provide the delegation with strong institutional backing and help facilitate high-level exchanges with Congolese authorities and key economic stakeholders, while enhancing the visibility and business opportunities of participating companies.

FOCUS AREA 1 – DIGITAL & INNOVATION
The digital sector is one of the most dynamic industries in the DRC. High mobile phone penetration, the rapid development of digital services, the emergence of a new generation of entrepreneurs and growing demand for technological solutions are creating numerous opportunities.
In collaboration with Silikin Village and key players from the Congolese tech ecosystem, the mission will help connect the needs of the Congolese market with the expertise of Belgian companies active in digital solutions, digital transformation, software and IT services, cybersecurity, data management, artificial intelligence, FinTech, creative industries, EdTech and innovation consulting.

FOCUS AREA 2 – THE KIVU-KINSHASA GREEN CORRIDOR
The second focus area will be dedicated to the strategic Kivu-Kinshasa Green Corridor project, developed with the support of Enabel and international partners. The initiative aims to combine the preservation of the Congo Basin forest, sustainable economic development, job creation and the promotion of economic activities along the corridor linking eastern DRC to Kinshasa.
Opportunities notably exist in sustainable agriculture and agribusiness, dredging, maritime and inland waterway transport, energy, logistics, eco-tourism, infrastructure, technical and vocational training, and environmental and territorial management. Belgium has recognised expertise in many of these fields.

A MISSION FOCUSED ON BUSINESS & PARTNERSHIPS
The programme will enable participating companies to gain a deeper understanding of the Congolese market, meet potential partners and engage with local business and institutional stakeholders. Business meetings, sector-focused activities and networking opportunities will be organised in Kinshasa. The detailed programme will be communicated at a later stage.
