Brussels International and hub.brussels are launching their 2026 ‘Sud’ Call for Projects. Are you an accredited Belgian civil society organisation or a Belgian non-profit organisation (ASBL/VZW) looking to implement a project in a developing country focused on sustainable and inclusive economic development? Then this call is for you!

About

The Brussels-Capital Region (BCR) is committed to contributing to the implementation of the United Nations 2030 Agenda, with a particular focus on eradicating poverty through sustainable and inclusive economic development. This call for projects aims to support initiatives that promote sustainable and inclusive economic development in developing countries.

Eligibility criteria

Projects must take place:

  • in an urban or semi-urban context; and
  • in one of the BCR’s three partner regions (see the regulations):
    • the City-Province of Kinshasa,
    • the Rabat-Salé-Kénitra Region,
    • the Occupied Palestinian Territory (West Bank and East Jerusalem; the Gaza Strip is excluded).

Who can apply?

This call is open to accredited civil society organisations as well as other Belgian non-profit organisations (ASBLs/VZWs). Among the latter, organisations active in international solidarity and economic development are particularly encouraged to apply.

Funding

A total budget of €344,000 has been allocated for the 2026 call.

The Brussels-Capital Region aims to support as many projects as possible, with grants ranging from €10,000 to €125,000 (see the regulations for full details).

Practical info

Information session

An online information session will be held on Wednesday, 15 July 2026, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

The session will include a presentation of the call for projects, followed by a Q&A with participants.

To make the most of the session, applicants are strongly encouraged to read the regulations beforehand so they can prepare specific questions.
