Developing renewable energies in Vietnam? An amazing challenge for your business! On 11 June, we will inform you of the opportunities presented by this market at our next renewable energy and infrastructure sector trade mission, which will be heading to Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh next October.
The Vietnamese government recently established a master plan for electricity development, with a focus on renewable energies, in an effort to boost wind and solar energy production through tax incentives, low import duties and openness to foreign investment.
As for infrastructure, various development projects are underway throughout the country, largely due to the migration of rural populations to the cities. Hanoi also plans to spend over a billion USD by 2020, notably for upgrades to transport infrastructure (installation of traffic monitoring cameras, a planned new national motorway) and electricity generation.
